Greg Staffa Road Trip

In 2008 I heard about a group in California that was doing a lot for homeless people. As someone who found himself homeless for 9 months what they were doing hit home. I did a 48 state 9068 mile road trip to raise awareness to them.

This year a lot of people are hurting. Were often quick to place blame, Republicans, Democrats, people who should never have gotten mortgages to begin with. Fact is with this many people hurting there isn’t one reason.

When your building is on fire you cant sit there arguing who started the fire or who’s fault it is. You need to focus and make sure the people are being helped.

That’s why I’m doing another much larger trip. I plan to soon set off on a 15,000 mile road trip to raise awareness about the need in our communities. My goal is simply to raise awareness. But last year I found that many people wanted to get involved and help. If you wish to help, I suggest you make a donation to your local United Way. United Way is made up of over 1000 different local organizations. These organizations work to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health.

One of the things I learned from my 2008 road trip was that when people are hurting they often feel alone. The feel like they are in this mess because of something they feel they did wrong. You should never feel ashamed for losing your job. You should not be embarrassed for being handed a band hand. It’s time we stopped the blaming and started looking around at how we can help.

That is the message I hope to bring on my Road trip. So welcome to my page and thank you for following.
